The former lawmaker said the candidate deserves a university scholarship for being humble despite attaining good grades.

"He deserves a scholarship for his university education. K24TV please link me with him and his family I am willing to help him get a scholarship with my personal support. Bravo!! you made your family, neighbours, friends, school, and all of us proud," Keter said.

Macharia, who studied at Moi High School Mbiruri, scored a straight A of 84 points, and he had As in all subjects.

Interestingly, Macharia was not aware that Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu was releasing the exam results.

While Machogu was unveiling the results at Moi Girls High School in Eldoret, Macharia was busy plucking tea on his family's farm with his mother.

According to K24 TV, Macharia only learned about the results after his mother received a phone call from the school principal, who informed her about her son's impressive performance.
