Orengo accompanies Ruto to India
Governors James Orengo of Siaya, Stephen Sang of Nandi, Hillary Barchok of Bomet, and the CEO of the LREB counties, Victor Nyagaya, accompanied the president to foster bilateral relations between Kenya and India.
The delegation apprised Ruto of the collaborative projects set to enhance Kenya's infrastructure and energy sectors after signing MOUs for SGR extension and a solar park with India.
The first MoU aimed to create a solar energy park with a capacity of 280 mw, allocating 10 to 50 mw to each of the 14 counties within LREB.
The second MoU sought to extend the existing Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from the Naivasha to Malaba corridor, with the core focus on the creation of an interlinking railway network that will seamlessly connect the 14 counties.
