How performance reviews will be used to fire CSs

According to the Kimilili lawmaker, the move by the president to ensure CSs sign performance contracts was one way to sack them easily.

"President William Ruto is very intelligent. He understands where this country needs to go; he defines where the sector wants to go, and the technocrats who work under him, including the Cabinet Secretary, are the ones who will develop the ratios to achieve what the president wants.
The head of state is also aware of the fact that some of the people he has assigned duties to are incompetent. And that is why he called them to the State House to sign a performance contract" Barasa said.

Barasa, who is a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, said he was sure Ruto would fire some CSs during the upcoming quarterly reviews.

"When it comes to the quarterly review of the performance report that the CSs signed, I am 100% sure some of the Cabinet Secretaries would have not met the demands will be sacked," he added

Why Raila Odinga wants two CSs to quit

In other news, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader, Raila Odinga, called for the resignation of two Kenya Kwanza Cabinet Secretaries over the KSh 17 billion oil saga.

Addressing the press on Monday, November 20, the ODM leader asked Energy CS Davis Chirchir and his Treasury counterpart Njuguna Ndung'u to resign.

The ODM leader linked the two CSs to the controversial importation of KSh 17 billion in oil from Turkey.

Raila alleged that the government-to-government deal was a corruption scandal hatched to withdraw money from the exchequer without the necessary approvals.

The former prime minister accused the Treasury CS of withdrawing billions from the Consolidated Fund without parliamentary approval.

He said the two Kenya Kwanza CSs must be prosecuted for criminal offences and abuse of office.
