"The tractor was ferrying firewood and was heading in the opposite direction," witnesses told Citizen TV.
One of the trio had his situation worsening, prompting referral to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
The ambulance he was onboard hit another trailer before rolling several times in the Kirite area.
According to the police, the van rammed into the trailer before veering off, as it almost collided with another oncoming vehicle.
Three people were injured in the second accident.
"The ambulance hit the back of a trailer that was heading to Eldoret. It almost collided with an oncoming vehicle," Ainabkoi police boss Allois Muthoka was quoted.
Elsewhere, an accident victim survived a nasty accident at a spot on Nairobi's Southern Bypass.
The Toyota Prado driver escaped death by a whisker after his vehicle was hit by a heavy truck on a busy highway.
Miracle on Southern Bypass
An undated clip published on social media showed him alienating himself from the onlookers at a nearby wall where he knelt and raised his hands to embark on a prayer solitude.
He presumably thanked the Supreme Being, whom he believes, perhaps after observing that it would be ideal for a human to survive such an accident.
Those at the scene deemed it a miracle as well.
According to the witnesses, the man's damaged vehicle was shoved into a ditch following the impact of the heavy truck that fell on it.
The cause of the accident had not yet been established by the time of the press.
No fatality was reported in the accident.
