Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir is among the state officials honoured with the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (E.G.H.) by President William Ruto for his exemplary performance.
His recognition comes amid an uproar by Kenyans over continuous power outages in the country.
The president awarded several leaders, including members of parliament, governors, cabinet secretaries, and athletes, according to the advice of a National Honours and Awards Committee in the president's office.
