7 Famous People Who Opened Their Homes, Donated To The Poor Over The Christmas Holidays

The Christmas holidays are always dear to many people's hearts in Kenya, but sadly, not everyone gets the cash to spend during the holidays.

Some famous people opened their homes to the less fortunate and shared Christmas with them, and below are some of them.

1 Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua welcomed more than 1000 Kenyans to enjoy Boxing Day at his Mathira home. People from all walks of life thronged the home adorned with decorations connoting the mood of Christmas. At Rigathis home, the children played and were fed. The youth also got to interact with him and talk over illicit brew as well as substance abuse. There also a day set aside for parents who took home unga and cooking oil.

2. Charlene Ruto

President William Ruto's daughter, Charlene, touched the lives of ordinary Kenyans when she shared Christmas day goodies and paid fare for passengers in Nairobi matatus.

3. Sentaor Karen Nyamu

During the Christmas holidays, Senator Karen Nyamu was bursting creative moves with the youth in Korogocho slums. Nyamu had gone to visit them and listen about their struggles. Nyamu shared food such as unga which wa sbrough by the truckloads with the residents. She also shared sanitary pads with them.

4. Sonko

It was not business as usual at former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko's house on Christmas Day as he treated his staff members to a lavish party, complete with a lot of great food and drinks.

"Yaani Christmas Dayu is already over? Anyway, together with my staff, we celebrated the birth of Jesus in style until we got drunk," he said.

5. Kithure Kindiki

Cabinet Secretary for Interior Kithure Kindiki shared a Boxing Day meal with officers serving in the frontline at Karanga Joto, at the border of Baringo North and Tiaty Sub-Counties in Baringo County.

During the occasion, he Distributed Christmas season celebration food items for Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU), Rapid Deployment Unit(RDU) camps in Ngaratuko, Kagir, and Loruk and for Loruk Police Station, Yatya Police Post and local National Police Reservists (NPRs)x.

6. Oscar Sudi:

Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi was also not left behind as he shared Christmas with his neighbours as well.

"Morning interaction with my neighbours Lemook village, Kapseret. Presenting them with Christmas gifts," he said on Twitter.

7. Uhuru Kenyatta

The former President and members of his family spent time with children from various homes, amongst them; Gatundu Children's home, Mama Ngina Children's Home, Mama Fatuma Children's home, St Dorcas Educational Centre and Mary Faith Rescue Centre.

Rigathi Gachagua excited to see many expectant women

In another story, DP Rigathi Gachagua was excited as the Mt Kenya region is recording a growing number of pregnant women.

According to the Mathira politician, he saw a lot of pregnant women and nursing mothers at his home in Mathira on Boxing Day.

Gachagua has been a spirited campaign to ensure that there is no substance abuse or illicit brew in the Mount Kenya region.
