One parent particularly happy with the announcement is Member of Parliament (MP) David Kiplagat.
The politician took to social media to express his joy, revealing that his bright son had done admirably well.

"Special congratulations to my son Denley Kipkoech Lagat for having scored a straight A in the just released KCSE Exams. You have made us proud, and once again, congratulations," he happily penned.
He shared a screenshot of the national examination results showing his son's mean grade and the school he attended.
Kiplagat's son went to Moi High School Kabarak, a top-performing national private high school in Nakuru.

How many candidates scored As in 2023 KCSE exam?
In a similar story, 1, 216 candidates scored straight As, as Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu announced.
On Monday, January 8, the Education CS announced the result at Moi Girls High School, Eldoret.
"There were 1,216 (0.14%) candidates who obtained an overall grade of A in the 2023 KCSE Examination compared to 1,146 (0.13%) candidates in the year 2022," Machogu said.
Of those who scored As, 889 were from national schools, while 172 were from extra-county schools.
Private schools produced 143 As, with county and sub-county schools producing 5 and 7 As, respectively.
