On Monday, January 8, KNEC urged candidates to access the results online through the KNEC website.

"Individual 2023 KCSE candidates' examination results will be accessed online through a link on the KNEC website or directly through the URL: www.results.knec.ac.ke. You will be required to enter the candidate's index number and the name (s) as per the registration data for the 2023 KCSE examination," a statement from KNEC read in part.
However, two hours later, many Kenyans are yet to access the results.
Frustrated Kenyans have taken to social media to share screenshots showing the KNEC system being inaccessible.

Why Machogu wanted SMS code repealed
As earlier reported, the Education CS announced the repeal of the SMS code used to confirm national examination results.
In a video shared by Kenya News Alert, Machogu stated that the department and the Ministry of ICT are working towards opening a website where all candidates can check their results for free.
“We (Ministry of Education) do away with SMS transmission of national exam provisional results and open a new platform. Currently, school portals are the most reliable," said Machogu.
