How the victim lost his firearm in Kirinyaga

In a statement, the DCI said that the male victim, who was travelling in his Toyota Prado, had stopped for hours on a murram road en route to check on his farm, which was located in the county's Kianda district.

By 8.30pm., members of the public had helped him by moving his car out of a slick ditch, and he had gone home.

When he got there, the 56-year-old discovered that his small gun, which he had kept in his car while, was gone. It was loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition.

He went back the same until 10pm looking for the gun, but he was unable to find much in the shadows and through the muddy trail left by the continuous rain.

After asking about in vain the following morning, the committed hawkshaws took charge and followed up on every clue they could find in the intelligence until the gun was located in Juja, Kiambu county.

What the DCI detectives seek to unearth

Investigations are in progress to ascertain how the three suspects, together with other suspects, spent the six rounds of ammunition loaded in the gun before it was lost.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that DCI detectives arrested two men suspected of having kidnapped a woman in Juja, Kiambu county .

In a statement on Wednesday, December 20, DCI said the two suspects abducted the woman and robbed her of KSh 645,000.

"Two men suspected of abducting a lady three days ago in Juja, Kiambu county and stealing over KSh 645,000 from her have been arrested by detectives," DCI said.

The two suspects, identified as Laban Chomba Muthini and Peter Mugera Maburi, were arrested after a road chase with DCI's operations sleuths.
