He called them one after the other and handed them KSh 10,000 each with the instruction they share with their loved ones.

"If you're a spouse or mother of any of my staff, make sure amekuletea Christmas yako I gave them a wawaletee jana after sherehe," Sonko revealed.
Clarifying on camera that he had paid his employees their routine pay, Sonko strictly instructed them to share the extra cash with their families.
He said the monies were an appreciation to the families for taking care of his staff while at their homes.
"I have paid you your salaries. Ensure this money reaches your wives and loved ones...May the heavenly father bless them and you as well for taking good care of you as you work with me," he said.
This came a few days after Sonko almost brought activities at a city fuel-filling station to a standstill on Sunday, December 24, after former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko showed up with his entourage.
All was going on as usual until he alighted from his deluxe convertible Mercedes and made his intent clear.
What did Mike Sonko do at petrol station?
He was armed with bundles of notes, which he started dispensing one after the other to anyone who appeared in front of him.
As the attendants on standby leveraged the opportunity to benefit before any other passersby, Sonko was not discriminating.
Any passerby who got wind of the happenings and branched to tap into the 'blessings' succeeded in it.
A minor also counted herself lucky as the governor extended the same gesture to her.
The confetti of money lasted a few moments after the generous politician confirmed no one was left out, driving out in the midst of his opulent convoy.
