How Nairobi Expressway toll change
Kenya's CPI has been dropping in the past few months as inflation eases, but the shilling continues to decline against the US dollar and other major currencies.
The Kenyan currency lost value against prominent currencies such as the Euro, Pound Sterling, US Dollar, and Japanese Yen.
Data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) showed the Kenya shilling lost value against local currencies in Q3 of 2023.
According to CBK data, the Kenya shilling traded at an average of KSh 155 per US dollar as of the close of business on December 28, 2023.
Nairobi Expressway Greenpark terminal
This followed the construction of the Greenpark terminal to allow entry to Nairobi CBD from JKIA.
Speaking during the inspection of the ongoing construction of the new Nairobi Expressway Exit Plaza at Greenpark terminal on Wednesday, December 20, Murkomen said the exit will have five toll lanes.
"The Expressway has reduced travel time from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Nairobi from two hours to 20 minutes at no cost to taxpayers. It has also become a major job creator, employing 6,000 Kenyans during its construction and now offering 500 permanent jobs," said Murkomen.
