"I joined my colleagues in convincing him to respect private business. We told him to pick up his drinks and leave, but he refused," said Apungana.

According to Apungana, he and others were not aware that the officer, identified as Nicholas Musau, was armed during the argument.

"He moved several steps backwards, and we thought he was about to leave. Instead, he removed his pistol and shot me twice, once in the stomach and another on the side," he narrated.

The security guard narrated that he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, and all he could hear were continuous gunshots.

"I lost all my strength, and all I knew was that the shooting was going on. I saw him aim the gun at other people before I fell," he said.

Why did Nicholas Musau shoot four people?

As reported earlier, Musau allegedly shot dead a barmaid at Vega Club at 2am on Wednesday, December 12, after arguing over a KSh 16,000 bill.

During the altercation, three other people were injured and are currently receiving treatment at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.

According to the police report, Musau picked up a quarrel with the barmaid, who had demanded that he clear a bill of KSh 16,000 for the drinks he had taken.

Following the argument, the suspect opened fire, fatally injuring the barmaid, identified as Ann Maina, and leaving three others with bullet wounds before fleeing.

“He picked a quarrel with the barmaids at the said bar over bills for the drinks he had taken. In the process, a fracas ensued, and the officer fatally injured the said barmaid, namely Ann Maina,” the police report read.
