Nakuru - Police in Nakuru county have launched investigations after an officer shot one person dead in a nightclub.
Citizen Digital reported that the officer identified as Nicholas Musau, based at Nakuru Central Police Station, shot dead a barmaid at Vega Club at 2am on Wednesday, December 12.
During the fracas, three other people were injured and are currently receiving treatment at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.

How KSh 16k bill led to fatal shooting in Nakuru
According to the police report, Musau picked up a quarrel with the barmaid, who had demanded that he clear a bill of KSh 16,000 for the drinks he had taken.
Following the argument, the suspect opened fire, fatally injuring the barmaid, identified as Ann Maina, and leaving three others with bullet wounds before fleeing.
Police said the four victims comprised two men and two women.
“He picked a quarrel with the barmaids at the said bar over bills for the drinks he had taken. In the process, a fracas ensued, and the officer fatally injured the said barmaid, namely Ann Maina,” the police report reads.
The officer was later arrested and locked up at Kaptebwa Police Station. A pistol with two rounds of ammunition and six spent cartridges were recovered.
"The said police officer has been arrested, and a Jericho Pistol gun, serial number KP 41311933, with two rounds of 9mm ammunition was recovered. Also recovered are six spent cartridges," the police reported stated.
Doctors disclosed that the other injured woman underwent surgery while the male victims were in stable condition.

In other sad news, a police officer was arrested after allegedly shooting his wife dead at their house in the Railways Police Lines in Eldoret.
Citizen Digital reported that Constable Maxwell Maina allegedly killed his wife, Mercy Chebet, following a domestic dispute.
According to the police report, Maina's neighbour heard gunshots from his house, and when they went to check, they found the body of his wife lying in a pool of blood.
