On the fateful day, the woman was driving when she lost control and rammed into a utility pole on the side of the road.

She was found unconscious at the scene and rushed to Lakeland Hospital, but doctors did not give much hope that she would wake out of her coma.

"We were told all along that she has anoxia and that the brain damage, she'll never wake up, but you never say never," her mother Peggy Means told the media.

Jen derives strength from her kids

Jennifer beat the odds when she miraculously regained consciousness and attended her son Julian's football game at Niles High School.

Her recovery left an indelible mark on those who were close to her and others who read her story.

One of them is lifelong friend Sara Macon, who noted they are still shocked that she is alive.

"I think what's been a driving force is being able to watch her kids. But really, her mom has been with her," Sara said.

Learning to walk, talk again

Jennifer has a lot to thank her mother for, as she has been an incredible caretaker who's remained by her side every single day since her accident.

Even when she was bedridden and looking hopeless, her mother remained hopeful and determined to get her home, and she did.

While the road to recovery has included visits to multiple hospitals, she will soon begin learning to walk again.

"Any accomplishment, I mean, to be able to sit up on her own, you know, small things that we all take for granted," her mother added.

Jennifer will also take fresh lessons in speaking to enable her to interact with people as before.

Boy wakes up from coma after two weeks

Elsewhere, Instagram user Tayane Gandra was overwhelmed by emotions as she reunited with her ailing son after 16 days.

The sick boy, who suffered from dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin condition, was in a coma for over two weeks.

He was delighted to see his mum, whom he had enquired about when he had a video call with his father, expressing his desire to see her.
