Nairobi - City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has come to the defence of embattled Zimmerman OCS who was arrested after she solicited a bribe to release a pregnant woman from custody.
Taking to his official Twitter handle on Friday, July 28, the revered lawyer said that all Kenyans of goodwill, led by Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome must fight and stop "this malicious and discriminatory scheme that targets the police".
"Why is EACC obsessed with police officers who earn KSh 30,000 a month? What is this madness and obsession with the small fish? When will EACC go after the governors, judges, Cabinet Secretaries of this government, and the previous administration who steal/stole billions?" he posed.
Why Ahmednasir Abdullahi wants Susan Wambui Muiruri set free
Ahmednassir demanded the immediate release of the officer urging the anti-graft agency to go for the big fish.

"Leave the police officers and do your job proper...go after those who steal tens of millions daily...not the police officer who gets KSh 500 to buy unga for his five kids," said Ahmednassir.
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that EACC announced that it had on Thursday, July 27 arrested the Officer-in-Charge of Zimmerman Police Post in Kasarani Division, Inspector of Police Susan Wambui Muiruri to face corruption charges.
"The arrest came after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) concurred with the recommendations of EACC to charge the Police Inspector with two (2) counts of soliciting and receiving a bribe from the complainant to facilitate the release of his pregnant girlfriend who had been arrested and detained at Kasarani Police Station. The offence was committed on 25th April 2021," EACC said in a statement.
Susan Wambui Muiruri processed at Integrity Centre
EACC further said that after she was processed at Integrity Centre Police Station on Thursday, the suspect was released on cash bail and required to present herself at Milimani Anti-Corruption Court on Friday, 28th July 2023, for plea taking.
"The plea did not, however, proceed as scheduled as the Court granted an application by the suspect’s advocate to defer the plea for two (2) weeks," EACC further said.
Her lawyer according to EACC informed the court that when the suspect left EACC on Thursday evening, she fell ill at night and was subsequently hospitalised hence unable to appear in court.
The court ordered that the matter proceeds on August 9, 2023, when the suspect will be charged with the offences.
