Wesley Kipsang Rotich from Bomet county is a happy man after he was released from prison on Monday, August 21.
Does prison change convicts?
Rotich was jailed for 20 years since 2003, and speaking to Nation, he narrated how the sentence changed his life and what he had learnt from prison.

"When I was told I would be in prison for 20 years, my heart sank because I thought it would be an eternity. But now that I am home, it sounds like the other day...," he said.
The man, who said he got born again while in prison, said he had trained n welding, painting, and carpentry and obtained a Grade 1 certificate.
"I know I have lost a lot, but I have gained so much knowledge and lessons that I will share with the local community," he added.
Ex-Bomet convict reunited with wife
As many would think, Rotich returned to an empty home and was given a hostile welcome, but that was not the case.
Rotich was welcomed warmly by his loving wife Gladys, who revealed she used to visit him in prison for 20 years.
"I am grateful to God that we have been reunited as a family, and we are thankful for the support of the community over the years that we have been on our own," she said as she embraced her husband."

Elsewhere an 84-year-old man who left his home 47 years ago came back and found out that the two wives he left behind had remarried.
As much Peter Oyuka didn't give his expected time of return when leaving, he did not take the news kindly and wondered why they couldn't wait for him to return.
The octogenarian walked out of his Makale village in Malava, Kakamega county in 1974 aged 37.
He told his people that he was going in search of greener pastures because he needed to take care of two wives and five children, although details of where he was headed and his expected return date were scanty.
