President William Ruto has faced criticism from a section of Kenyans who have accused him of wasting resources through his development tours.
Political analyst Herman Manyora called on the head of state to stop the tours, arguing that they strained the Kenyan economy.
In a statement on the X app, Manyora observed that economic activities stopped whenever Ruto visited a region.
"Thank you for visiting our Mulembe nation. But from a loyal subject: consider putting these visits and launches to a stop. They’re becoming too much and a drain on our meagre resources.

Your excellency, moving the president around is costly. Your excellency, it may interest you to know that all work stops when you’re around. Like the entire western region shut for all the time you were there. Please consider this as coming from your loyal subject and with tremendous respect and utmost humility," he wrote.
Mbarire dismisses questions about Ruto's leadership style
However, in a quick retort, Embu governor Cecily Mbarire stated that the head of state would not change anytime soon.
The UDA party chairlady observed that Ruto is a hands-on leader and would be on the ground to find out what is happening.
She asked those questioning the president to get used to his leadership style and energy while working.
"Looks like people don’t know who President William Ruto is; he is not one to sit at state house awaiting reports from CS’s and PS’s. He will go to the ground and find out for himself how the implementation of the plan is unfolding. Get used to his energy and style of leadership," she wrote
Mudavadi rubbishes claims Ruto is campaigning
Earlier, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi refuted claims that the president had set the country in a campaign mood.
Mudavadi said those claiming the president was on a campaign mission were scared of his workaholic traits and passion for the country's development and economic growth.
The prime CS said Ruto's critics struggled to catch up with his pace and have resorted to peddling lies and propaganda ostensibly to mislead the public about what the president is doing.
