According to CNC3 Television, Trinidad and Tobago, death may have knocked on his door, but Kevin’s guardian angel was watching.
“I put my hand here and blocked my face, then I kept telling them not to shoot because I had a daughter,” he recalled.
The bullets tore into his legs and impaired his mobility, making it impossible for him to walk again.
Kevin's heart melted
In one of the photos on his Facebook page, Kevin is seen with his then-young daughter seated beside him with a handmade card.
Five years later, the family man is not only still alive but recently watched emotionally as his daughter was accepted into the University.
“My heart just melted. I was so happy and proud,” he said, emphasizing the need for both parents participating in raising their children.
Kevin added that it bothers him whenever he sees young fathers being killed or arrested, leaving the burden of parenting to the women.
