Nyamira- Nyamaiya Member of County Assembly (MCA) and the majority leader in the county's legislative unit Elijah Osiemo is dead.
Nyamira majority leader is dead
Osiemo died on Monday, August 7, in a grisly road accident along the Maai Mahiu-Naivasha road after the car he was traveling in got involved in a ghastly road accident.
Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo confirmed the incident as he expressed shock over the demise of a leader that he described as young, with an immense political future.

In a statement by Nyaribo seen by TUKO.co.ke, Osiemo was in the same car with two other MCAs; Duke Masira and Priscilla Nyatichi when the accident occurred.
"I have learned with shock and deep sadness of the sudden and tragic news of the demise of Nyamaiya Ward MCA Hon Elijah Osiemo in a tragic road crash along the Maai Mahiu-Naivasha road this afternoon.

"Osiemo was traveling with other two MCAs, Duke Masira (Township Ward) and Priscila Nyatichi (Nominated), when the accident occurred. The two MCAs have been rushed to Naivasha Level Four Hospital for treatment and stabilization awaiting doctors’ advice," the governor stated.
A heartbroken Nyaribo said that the county had lost a youthful, talented and industrious leader who was focused and had a lot to accomplish in future.
Nyamira county has directed that the body of Osiemo be transported to Nairobi for preservation.
"My government has directed that the body of the honourable Member of County Assembly be moved to Nairobi for preservation as the county comes to terms with the tragic death. I take this opportunity to wish the injured MCAs a quick recovery and offer my heartfelt condolences to the late Osiemo’s family, residents of Nyamaiya Ward and Nyamira county," said Nyaribo.
Nairobi Hospital Emergency
Developing reports indicated that the MCAs car got into an accident after a boda boda transporting charcoal obstructed them.
Masira said their driver tried to evade the rider but hit him as he swerved and their vehicle lost control and ended up landing into a ditch.
It was also reported that the injured MCAs were also transferred to Nairobi Hospital for emergency and specialised treatment.
This comes just a month after Tana River MCA representing Chewani Ward, Hamisi Idii Deye died in a road accident along the Garsen Road.
