Elvis Kipruto from Endebess, Trans Nzoia county, travelled to Nairobi with a heartfelt request to Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen to assist him in securing a job.

Why did Elvis Kipruto travel to Nairobi?

The 27-year-old, burdened by the difficulties of unemployment, sold family produce, including beans, to finance his trip to Nairobi, where he hoped to meet Murkomen and seek help.

Kipruto's determination to reach out to Murkomen was evident when he took and posted on Facebook a photo of himself wearing a shirt with Murkomen's image on it.

"Nilitaka kupiga picha ili Murkomen anione. Akinisaidia kupata kazi ya security, ya dereva ama kazi yeyote, nitashukuru (I wanted to take a photo so Murkomen could see me. If he helps me get either security, driver or any job, I'll be grateful)," he told TUKO.co.ke.

In his plea, Kipruto shared that life had become increasingly challenging, and he was willing to take any job opportunity that would come his way.

He emphasised the urgency of his situation, revealing that his parents were deeply concerned and disappointed by his decision to travel to Nairobi for this purpose.

Kipruto is trained VIP security personnel

"Maisha imekuwa ngumu. Nilitoka nyumbani kama nimeuza maharagwe ya nyumbani ili nipate transport ya kuja Nairobi (Life has been hard. I left home after I had sold beans that he had harvested at home so I could raise the fare to come to Nairobi)," he sold.
"Wazazi wamekasirika sana kuwa nilienda Nairobi kupiga picha. Ni vile natafuta namna. Naomba msaada (My parents are very upset by my decision to come to Nairobi to take a photo. It's just because I'm looking for ways. Am seeking help)," added Kipruto.

Kipruto also disclosed that he had received training as a VIP security personnel from the Private Security Training Academy.

He firmly believes that securing employment would not only help him establish himself but also provide much-needed support to his family, who are currently facing financial hardships.

Although Murkomen has yet to respond to Kipruto's plea, his heartfelt appeal has gained significant attention on social media and within the local community.

Nyamira man kneels to beg CS for job

Separately, a man found his way past Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu's security detail and knelt before him as he pleaded for a job at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Machogu was among key guests during the burial service of former Nyamaiya ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Elijah Osiemo, who died in a ghastly road accident a fortnight ago.

In videos and photos that went viral, the man was seen rushing to the podium, where Machogu was and got to his knees and made his needs known to the Cabinet Secretary.

According to reports by NTV, the CS was in the process of giving a TSC employment letter to a family member of the deceased politician as a gesture of comfort and sympathy.
