Kakamega- A Kakamega police officer has been arrested after setting ablaze his female colleague's car in a bizarre incident on the morning of Tuesday, August 1.
Constable Evans Kamau allegedly torched his colleague's Toyota Alliona in the wee hours of Tuesday after they had an altercation with the female police officer.
According to a report by the Daily Nation, the two officers, who are neighbours, are alleged to have had an altercation on the night of Monday, July 31, and Kamau angrily stormed out with some of his possessions.
At about 2am on Tuesday, the vexed officer set blaze costable Gladys Kimanzi's car using a matchbox and mattress.

Frantic efforts by the police officers to douse the fire and save the car were futile as the front part of the vehicle was severely damaged in the fire incident.
The officer is now set to face arson charges. A police report indicated he appeared drunk.
Police officer dies in Kiambu
In a separate incident, a Kiambu traffic police officer died on the spot after being hit by a car while manning traffic along the Kiambu Road-Northern by-pass junction.
Constable Kelvin Korir was directing traffic at the junction when a Prado, which the police described as unlicensed, hit the law enforcer.
A police report indicated that 33-year-old Eric Otieno Ongoya, who was driving from Nairobi to Kiambu, hit the officer and sandwiched him between the prado and another one.
Makueni suspects hide in Tsavo National Park
Elsewhere, two suspects escaping police arrest for carrying bhang in their vehicle fled into Tsavo National Park, known for dangerous man-eating lions.
The two individuals in a speeding vehicle allegedly failed to stop after police manning a roadblock in the Kanga area asked them to, prompting the nail-biting chase.
A statement on Twitter by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations indicated that the chase did not last for long as the suspects' vehicle veered off the road, hit a tree and landed in a ditch.
