A Kenyan man has left many in awe after breaking down the estimated cost of building a typical bungalow in Kenya after a debate on Twitter over the same.
This was after a Kenyan man asked what the price of building a typical house in Kenya was, and as many came with varied opinions, one man decided to break it down for aspiring homeowners to understand.
In his estimated quotation for the three-bedroomed house, Denzel, in a handwritten paper, explained how the cost would amount to KSh 1.8 million.
He gave the estimated cost of foundation stones, sand, ballast and all other building materials and gave their prices.

He went on to give estimations for reinforcements, wood and even iron sheets. He said including finishings, the total cost of a normal bungalow is KSh 1.8 million.
In the comments, he said expenses such as labour are included in the finishing part.
Many other Kenyans also waded into the discussion on the thread, giving their experiences and what they spent while building their houses.

Kisii man builds own house
It looks like many Kenyans are looking into building their own homes, and a man from Kisii recently celebrated after becoming a homeowner.
Filled with delight, Dominic Ombongi from Kisii could not contain his joy and pride as he saw his semi-permanent dream home, which he had been building in his hometown, finally come to fruition.
The 26-year-old man said he started laying the foundation of the one-bedroomed house in September 2022, and less than a year later, it is already ready for occupation.
