Kirinyaga - A family from Kirinyaga has been left devastated after the death of its kin in a horrific accident that happened in the wee hours of Wednesday, August 2.
Thirty-eight-year-old Alfred Migwi was crushed to death while allegedly lying on the Nairobi-Nakuru railway line.
A report by Citizen TV indicated that the deceased was a mentally challenged person who often spent his time on the railway.
"He was killed at 3am. He has been going to spend his time at the railway and even cooks there," Leah Mwangi, a family member, said.

Kirinyaga West Sub-County police commander Moses Koskei has since confirmed the incident and said the Migwi's remains were moved to Karatina mortuary.
Koskei urged families living near the railway to be vigilant and also take care of their kin having mental challenges.
Nakuru teacher killed in train accident
In other news, a helpless primary school teacher in Nakuru could not escape death after he got stuck on the railway line, where he was hit by a passenger train on Thursday, January 12.
According to police, the teacher was crushed beyond recognition; he is said to have crossed the line at an undesignated point.
According to the officers, the locomotive's engineer strived to miss hitting the now-deceased man, but all was in vain.
The train had hooted repeatedly, but the teacher could not save himself.
"I got information that a civilian was crushed by a train. It was coming from the Nakuru station, heading to Gilgil. It encountered the man when it reached Mediheal. Unfortunately, he was hit by the train and died on the spot," he said.
Train collides with bus
In a separate incident, several people died after a bus tragically collided with a passenger train at a railway crossing.
The public service vehicle Likili bus collided with the passenger train on Sunday, July 2 afternoon.
The bus was crossing the Kabuka railway crossing when it hit the Tazara passenger train.
Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale disclosed to Zambia's ZNBC News that at least six people had been confirmed dead, with more than 50 others with varying degrees of injuries
