Brian Areri, a determined young student from Kisii, has expressed his gratitude to well-wishers who rallied behind him, enabling him to start his educational journey at Meru University.
How did Brian express his gratitude?
Facing formidable financial challenges, Brian's dreams of pursuing higher education were hanging by a thread.
However, a glimmer of hope emerged when his story caught the attention of Sammy Ondimu Ngare, a kind-hearted police officer who shared his story on Facebook.

In a heartfelt message delivered through Sammy Ondimu Ngare, Brian Areri expressed his profound appreciation to everyone who stood by him during his hardship.
"I didn't know that this day will come but through your help now I will continue with my studies. I want to thank the following people who introduced me to you people," he wrote.
"I don't know how to thank you enough for your precious heart, you came to help me though you didn't know me...i pray for you people that may the Almighty God bless you,: he added.
Brian vows to work hard in school
He thanked those who introduced him to the community, specifically mentioning Isaac Motari Cyrus and the man he described as "more than a father" to him, Sammy Ondimu Ngare.
Brian's gratitude extended to the school administration of Meru University for their warm welcome, as well as his good friends, like Diana Chepkemoi Maritim, who made him feel at home.
"I thank the school administration of Meru university, who were so welcoming, and my good friends who welcomed us at Meru university, the likes of Diana Chepkemoi Maritim," said Brian.
"It has been a long journey, but finally, I am in school. I want to say thank you, Sammy, for helping me this far. No one knows if today I would be in school, but because you sacrificed yourself, today I am a student of Meru University," he added.
Ondimu further told TUKO.co.ke that Areri had vowed to work hard in school and make everyone who has helped him proud.
Sammy Ondimu starts to raise funds
Brian had been granted admission to Meru University, a testament to his academic prowess demonstrated by an impressive B- in his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
With his dreams within reach but financial constraints looming, Ondimu launched a fundraising campaign with an initial target of KSh 30,000 to cover Brian's university expenses.
The response from wellwishers was nothing short of overwhelming, surpassing the intended goal within a matter of hours.
On August 19, 2023, Ondimu visited Brian and his dedicated grandmother at their home in Kisii.
The excitement and gratitude were palpable as the young scholar prepared to embark on his educational pursuit.
Brian's commitment to education was evident as he had even saved money for his personal use from odd jobs. Notably, he also expressed the need for a smartphone.
