The big 40 is always a birthday to look forward to because it is a milestone birthday, and as they say, life starts when one hits that mark.

Sasha appreciates fun trips with dad

TUKO.co.ke learnt that when Douglas Masakhwa Anunda hit 40, he celebrated and received many presents. However, none touched his heart like the note from his little daughter, Sasha.

Not only did Sasha take the time to write him a sweet letter, but she even thought of placing it on his pillow where he could easily see it and also get surprised.

" Happy birthday I love you because you are the best dad. Now you are 40 years old, I really appreciate you. You have been the best dad on earth," said the adoring daughter.
"I love you because you take me to bouncing castles, swimming pools, and other fun places," Sasha told her dad.

Masakhwe boasts seven children, but out of all of them, only Sasha remembered his birthday.

"That day is as special to her as it is to me; she told me she doesn't have money but when she gets some cash, she will buy me a cake," said the elated journalist.

Sasha's mum walks away

The story of Masakhwe and little Sasha has, however, not always been so happy and easy. When she was only four months old, Sasha's mum walked away from the two of them.

"I was not prepared for that and I am grateful for my mum's training as a young boy which helped me cope with the situation," said the now polygamous man.
"It was challenging because had to work so I turned to a nearby daycare. Sadly, little Sasha was mistreated by the owner of the daycare. One day, I found her crying, and she was generally a happy child. When I asked why she was crying I discovered that her food had been given to another baby," added Masakhwe.

Who sang Papa Lolo song?

There were instances when Masakhwe, a journalist, had classes in the evening, and during that time, he would leave her in the house.

"She used to love this song called Papa Lolo by Mose FanFan and I would just put it on repeat and leave her listening to it in the house; sometimes she would just doz off," he revealed.
"Sometimes I would just take her to college with me and she would be passed from one student to another who took care of the baby until I finished my classes," he said.

Although Masakhwe is now married to two wives who live with him, he never forgets those days with his little princess.

Daughter wishes mum happy Father's Day

In other news, a Ugandan mother's Father's Day note from her daughter went viral, sparking a heated debate on social media.

Online backlash ensued as some argued that praising mothers on Father's Day undermined the occasion's significance.

Undeterred by criticism, the single mother boldly defended herself against detractors, responding with insults and laughter.
