"God performed a great miracle to me for giving me a good wife. She has never given up on me," a delighted Nangwahafi told Afrimax English.
The couple had been married for 35 years, and Nagwahafi shared they had never had conflicts as they lived well in harmony.
Falling in love with neighbour
The 68-year-old man said friends and families thought his wife had gone mad when she married him.
"It was not hard to meet each other as we were neighbours. I fell in love when I saw him, but my parents did not agree with our relationship. I had an elder brother who constantly told me not to be with a man with disability.
My family tried to stop us. During my wedding, only my sister attended. She was the only one who supported me through it all," said Budensiyana.
Loving someone unconditionally
She added that marrying Nangwahafi was a "risky affair" but chose to follow her heart as she unconditionally loved her man.
Nangwahafi said his in-laws threatened to stop supporting his wife after her friends rejected her for marrying him.
However, their love for each other stood the test of time as they proved their naysayers wrong over three decades later.
