A couple who relocated from the US to Kenya with their three kids are doing well.

Why did Meru couple relocate to Kenya?

George Limiri and his wife Mekenze moved to Meru with their three kids and set up a lucrative farm.

Speaking about why they left the US while many strove to move abroad, Mekenze said it was because of these children.

Mekenze noted that they wanted the children to experience the Kenyan culture, and the environment was suitable for raising them.

“George and I wanted them to experience life here and get to know the other half of their family. It was really important for us for them to know the culture, and we feel it is the ideal environment for raising kids,” she said.

The Mzungu added that they also would like their children to be more connected to the earth by bringing them to a more natural setting.

“There is simplicity in life with living in the rural areas, which will help our kids,” she said, adding that they home-school them.

Which businesses do Meru couple do?

The couple set up a farm rearing pigs, goats and bees at their mansion before launching their coffee brand.

On Wednesday, August 30, a delighted Mekenze announced they had produced the first batch of the Limiri Farms Coffee.

“If you are here in Kenya or the USA and want to be one of the first to try our Limiri Farms Coffee, please comment or message us so we can include your order in this first batch.
These are ground AA Grade Arabica beans from right here in the Mount Kenya region of Kenya. It’s a medium to dark roast. Incredibly high quality, just how we like our products to be.”

Mekenze announced that a 250-gram bag would cost KSh 1,000 for clients in Kenya, while those in the US would pay KSh 3,700 for a 450-gram bag plus KSh 700 shipping.
