"His vehicle, which was found abandoned at a petrol station near Ole Ken Hotel, is in good condition but appeared to have been ransacked. The vehicle was recovered around 1am on Thursday morning before he was also found alive," Momanyi said, as reported by Nation.

He explained that the cleric was taken to Nakuru Level Five Hospital for examination, adding that he appeared physically okay but traumatised by the ordeal.

"The priest was found tied with ropes near Eveready roundabout. He has been rushed to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital for examination by doctors to ascertain if he is fine. However, he appears tired and devastated following the ordeal," he added.

How did he end up being abducted

Momanyi added that they had launched investigations into the incident to unravel the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping.

The police divulged that phone signals were traced in several areas within Nakuru town before his vehicle was found.

Additionally, at least KSh 100,000 was withdrawn from his accounts at different points within the town.

Muriuki was recently transferred to Holy Cross Parish Nakuru from Elburgon in Molo.
