"The detectives who were backed up by a contingent of officers from the Anti Terror Police Unit based at Parklands also managed to arrest four suspects found at the scene in the sprawling slums of Kariua, in Nairobi’s Ngara neighborhood. A detailed search led to the recovery of two gunny bags where the millions of shillings had been stashed, 26 bags of cannabis," DCI said in a statement.

As a result, the detectives managed to apprehend four suspects who were present at the scene.

Among the items recovered were 26 bags of marijuana, meticulously packaged and hidden, indicating a substantial drug trafficking operation.

In another story of women in crime, three suspects in a motorcycle theft syndicate in different parts of the country were apprehended in Kajiado.

On Tuesday, July 4, detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced that they had dismantled a motorcycle theft ring operating between Kenya and a neighbouring country, where the stolen motorbikes are believed to have a ready market.

"This is after investigations revealed that there existed a well-organised criminal gang that masterminded the disappearance of motorcycles in various towns in the country, before ferrying them to Loitoktok Town from where they are sneaked across the border," the DCI said.
