Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Adhiambo stated her daughter Bianca had a tumultuous run in her final year of secondary education.
"She was out of school for a month because of a lack of school fees. However, the principal called me one day and asked me to get some money and return her to school. She had an arrear of KSh 17,000, but the principal asked me to get a few thousand so that the girl could continue her studies and prepare for the test," she said.
Pursuing Bachelor of Science in Biology at UoN
Bianca repaid the faith of the principal as she passed well and was called to the University of Nairobi (UoN) to pursue a course in Bachelor of Science in Biology.
However, the lack of money has hindered her education progress as she remains at home with her mum, who sells fish to earn a living.
"It is difficult as sometimes the business may not work out. Sometimes you can sell, and other times it is a dry day. That notwithstanding, the fee structure challenges me and my family. Getting that amount of money is a monumental task, and I would be humbled if someone could help me raise the school fees for my daughter," she said.
