On Sunday, August 27, over 1500 street kids will be fed a hearty meal, thanks to the Tujuane Touch a Heart organisation.
Masika spends nights on streets
The brainchild of Beryl Masika, she formed the group on April 27, 2017, together with a few friends. It has since grown to include a small governing body, complete with a chairman, secretary, and treasurer.
"I decided to start the group because I know what it feels to go through their predicaments; I have slept hungy before and have also spent night on the streets; my family was struggling at the time and we ended up sleeping outside," she said.

Masika decries cost of living
That the cost of living has risen exponentially is not in doubt, and that is one of the challenges that gives Masika sleepless nights as she plans huge events like the upcoming one.
" I was shopping today and prices are off the roof I was overwhelmed, shopping food for 1500 people was just too much," she said.
To help the initiative, use Paybill Number 247247, account number 249421. You can contact Beryl Masika on 0706430050.
Alternatively, you can donate dry food, shoes, clothes, blankets, mosquito nets, and mattresses to the needy.
Meet Nairobi
In another story, a woman identified as Salome Kimaru took it upon herself to feed street families she met at Uhuru Park in 2019.
Kimaru said she was resting under a tree at the park when she heard a voice telling her to take care of the families around the park.
TUKO.co.ke learnt Kimaru started taking food to the families every week despite the challenges of finding a suitable location where they could settle permanently.
