Emali - Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga has bought land and built a house for a Makueni woman whose son was killed during demos.
Raila disclosed that he learned of the death of 18-year-old Brian Mwendwa through his friend from Makueni identified as John Kiema.
According to Raila, Kiema told him about the background of Mwendwa's mother, Miriam Mbithe.
"We have come to mourn a young man. John Kiema called and told me that a young boy had been shot and killed by police. He told me about Brian, he narrated to me how Brian's mum lost land in Wote after the demise of her husband and later wrangles with her in-laws. She came to Emali," Raila said.

Promise to buy land and build
The former premier said the young boy had promised the mother that he would pursue his studies and later work to ensure he put a roof over the head of his mother but was killed.
"Brian had passed his exams and was ready to join Kenyatta University but was killed. He had promised his mother that he will go to school and after his studies, he would work and build a house for his mother," he said.
The ODM leader said they had bought land and built a house for the bereaved family in Makueni to ensure the mother has somewhere to call home.
"We agreed with Kiema that before we come to bury the young man, we will buy land, build a house, then come. That is why we are here. We assure you that we will walk and help you through the journey," he said.
He asked Makueni governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior to ensure the family did not lack anything. Raila and other leaders contributed over KSh 200,000 to the family.
