Nairobi - The trial of former Migori governor Okoth Obado over the murder of Sharon Otieno entered the homestretch with new revelations by witnesses during the week-long hearing.
NTV Kenya reported that during the hearings on Friday, July 28 at the Milimani Law Courts, Obado said he wants to be supplied with statements recorded by police of his son Dan Obado while alleging a ploy by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to implicate him in the murder.
A witness who testified in the case last Wednesday said Obado suspected that his son had a romantic relationship with Sharon.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that a court was told how close Obado was uncomfortable with the close relationship between Sharon and his son.
A witness testifying in the proceedings of Sharon's murder case told the court that Obado suspected his son named Dan, had a romantic relationship with Sharon.
The witness told Justice Cecilia Githua that the former Migori governor was uncomfortable sharing a girlfriend with his son as it was taboo in their community.
“He (Obado) told me he was thinking that maybe Sharon met Dan and had some affairs and it would be a taboo in Luo to share a lady with your son or father,” the witness said as reported by Citizen Digital.

The witness further informed the court that Obado cut off his communication with Sharon after realising she was recording their private conversation.
Earlier, the court had been told how the slain student demanded a status befitting a governor's wife during her affair with the former Migori county boss.
A witness told the court that she had petitioned Obado to acquire a KSh 20 million house in Kisumu or Nairobi, a car, and monthly upkeep of some good KSh 5 million.
Sharon, who was expectant by the time of her murder, had also demanded KSh 200,000 monthly from the former governor for her prenatal care, NTV reported.
