Nandi - The tiff pitting Nandi senator Samson Cherargei and Governor Stephen Sang is far from being resolved.
The two Kenya Kwanza leaders have been on each other, with Cherargei poking the hornet's nest with his latest letter to Sang.
In a letter dated Monday, July 24, Cherargei questioned Sang's development record in Nandi, terming his performance as dismal.
"This huge amount of money disbursed to Nandi County does not reflect in development across the County, your performance as a governor in terms of development continues to be dismal and degenerating," read the letter in part.

The lawmaker demanded to be provided with various county records, adding that the constitution had provided the structures to take Sang into account for his actions.
Cherargei maintained that he was performing his constitutional role and needed the documents within 14 days.
Sang responds to Cherargei
The county boss promptly responded to Cherargei, stating that Cherargei's demands would essentially give him the duties of the Office of the Auditor General (OAG).
Sang explained that the periods Cherargei mentioned in his letter were accounted for in reports available to the public, including the lawmaker.
"It is also worthwhile to mention that the OAG reports in this period showed tremendous improvement in prudent financial management as evidenced by the positive change from "Disclaimer Audit Opinion" in the financial years 2013/2017 to "Qualified Audit Opinion" within the period you have made reference to. I do not doubt your ability to comprehend and appreciate the difference in the two audit opinions," read the letter.
The county chief further that while appearing before the Senate committees, Cherargei was present, claiming he lacked "emotional acuity to deeply delve into issues captured in the auditor reports."
Sang invites Cherargei to meet the people
The governor invited the legislator to tour Nandi and have a first-hand experience of the work done.
He termed Cherargei's accusations of poor development in Nandi as unfounded, inaccurate, and misleading.
"I also wish to invite you to take time off your busy schedule on the move from one TV station to another, to come back home and confirm first-hand the progress made in the referenced period.
You can also freely engage wananchi even as you tour the projects so that as a people's representative, you can speak from their perspective instead of making unfounded, inaccurate, and misleading allegations," he added.
