On this day six years ago, Mutebi Aisha went through an excruciating experience that changed her view of life forever.

She was expectant with her fourth child and didn't envision the possibility that her water would break at the time doctors were on strike.

Daughter is named Sasha Mitchell

That meant she couldn't rush to the referral hospital in Mbale which is near, forcing her to go all the way to Mukumu Hospital where, unbeknownst to her, she would have a complicated delivery.

She told TUKO.co.ke that when the hospital performed an ultra sound, they found out that the baby was coming out in the opposite direction instead of the head first.

Whole process traumatised her

The medics proposed that she delivers through a Caesarian section despite her showing signs of being able to deliver normally.

"I was there listening to them toy with the decision, so I told them to give me the papers I sign," she expressed.

However, there was one problem, the only available bed at the time was not ready as there had been another operation.

She was left with no option than to obey the medics and exercise patience as the bed was prepared for her operation to take place.

At exactly 7pm my miracle baby was born through an operation. It was God that my daughter and I survived" she said with a smile.

Baby started fainting

Aisha reveals that she was so traumatised being operated on for a small baby of 2.6kg, adding that she promised herself to never give birth again.

The development, she adds, left her confused because she had a normal pregnancy, save for a few normal illnesses here and there which stopped when the pregnancy hit four months.

She was lucky her mother-in-law had accompanied her to the hospital and not only offered emotional support but also welcomed her grand daughter in her arms.

Just when Aisha was settling into motherhood, the baby started fainting after three weeks and was rushed to hospital where she was diagnosed with pneumonia.

Aisha believes in miracles

Luckily, the duo had made it to the hospital in good time, so it only took 30 minutes for her to be stabilised.

"The doctor named Wangila was so nice. He told me that since it was not advisable to go back home on a motorbike, he would stop everything he was doing to drop me home. He saved her life," she continued.

Six years later, Aisha looks at the beautiful girl who now loves modelling and dancing and is full of gratitude for the far they have come.

As the PP2 student at Navuhi Primary School in Vihiga County turns nine, the mother says every time she looks at her she believes in the existence of miracles.

"May she receive birthday wishes from mum Sasha and her siblings Leila, Laura and Raphael," the grateful mother concluded.

Father emotional as daughter joins university

Elsewhere, Kevin Lalchan was filled with emotion as he witnessed his daughter, Jewel, embark on her journey at the university—an experience he had never expected to see.

This was due to the fact that he had survived a harrowing ordeal in 2018 after enduring a brutal attack by armed robbers who shot him three times and left him for dead.

Reflecting on the moment, the proud father revealed that his heart melted with joy because he nearly missed the milestone.
