“Brief facts of the matter are that the said deceased person received a customer at his shop where he does some metal fabrication who had a motor vehicle tyre which was inflated to be welded," he said.
The deceased decided to work on the wheel without removing air from it and in the process, the tyre got heated and exploded in his face.
He suffered numerous facial lacerations and severe damage to both his lower and upper jaws, resulting in excessive bleeding and immediate death.
The police report indicates that when officers visited the scene, Chansa was found lying in a pool of blood facing upwards.
“The body was thoroughly inspected and had multiple injuries on the head coupled with excessive bleeding," reads the statement.
Also on the scene was the burst motor vehicle tire meant for a tipper truck and a welding machine.
The incident has shed light on the need to step up workplace regulations to prevent such incidences occurring again in the future.
