An ailing woman who had been admitted at the Kiambu town-based Mayan Lifestyle Hospital got the help of President William Ruto, who offset her hospital bill.
Ruto recently had stop-overs in the county where he embarked on his five-day tour of the Mt Kenya region when he encountered the woman.
According to sources, she had left the health facility devoid of permission, managing to get an audience with the president in the process.
Speaking to this publication, the presiding medic at Mayan said the woman's hospital bill had accrued to upward of KSh 100,000.

She had been diagnosed with a kind of asthma.
"It is true she was here getting treatment for asthma. She left this facility but her bill was offset through John Machua, the Kiambu town MP," said Dr Grace Wamboi.
