How did cop celebrate Aldrine Kibet?

The young man, who caught the nation's attention after helping St Anthony's Kitale win the high school games, has been in fine form for the Under 18 national team.

The Junior Stars faced Somalia on Friday, December 1, at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega county.

Somalia got an early lead through Abdihadif Abdi, but then Junior Stars produced an impressive comeback.

Humphrey Aroko equalised eight minutes later before Stanley Omondi scored Kenya's second goal.

Aroko netted his double in the 67th minute after an assist by Kibet.

Kibet finally got his goal in the 72nd minute after Somalia failed to clear their lines to give Kenya a comfortable 4-1 lead.

The win ensured Kenya finished top of Group A with nine points and went into the Cecafa U-18 semi-finals unbeaten.

Footage of Kibet's wonder goal from outside the box surfaced online, showing the stadium going wild with celebrations, and he ran towards the corner to celebrate with his teammates.

A smiling police officer watching the game was impressed by the build-up and play saluted Kibet.

Kenyans online reacted by saying:

@ZedMawingu:

“He only scores bangers. Haven't seen him score tap-ins.”

@Saleemmumo:

“It's the salute for me.”

@1026brown:

“He's good.”

@kot_speaker:

“The future is sorted.”

@unclexangi:

“This future is luminous.”

@Utdloyals_:

“The cop could not help but salute.”

How did St Anthony's Kitale bid Aldrine goodbye?

In other news, the end of Kibet's four-year stay with St. Anthony's Boys High School was marked with a holy mass in August.

Kibet flew to Tarragona, Spain, to take up his slot in a soccer academy.

It was a mixture of joy and sombre moments at the school's grounds as Kibet's fellow learners, teachers, and the non-teaching group gathered to see him off with heartfelt messages of goodwill.
