"Get my queen for free if Aston Villa beats Arsenal," Dut boldly declared in a caption on a photo of him and his lover.
As fate would have it, Aston Villa emerged triumphant in the match, beating the Gunners 1-0 in the nailbiting showdown.
The lone goal was scored by John McGinn in the seventh minute, shattering the hearts of Arsenal fans worldwide.
No one took Dut's bet
However, much to the relief of Legend Dut and his girlfriend, no one had taken him up on the outlandish bet.
Arsenal's defeat may have left the fanatic disappointed, but his girlfriend remained safely out of the wager.
"Aston Villa won, but no one bet his girlfriend with me; you would have owned this queen. No winner of the girlfriend she is remains not taken," he remarked with a sigh of relief.
The turn of events left his followers and social media abuzz with different reactions, with many men wishing they had taken the bet.
Reactions from fans
Ngong Atem Akol Junior:
"From today, let her start moving around with some security for her safety, we know her picture already."
De Malong:
"Dut, you a true legend, no one took your bet “girlfriend betting,” but now they are making claims. Cheers mate."
Arop Makuei:
"It's very good if she is your wife, but worse if she is a girlfriend. Think of her family brother, her brothers wouldn't like seeing you advertising her for football betting."
Manchester fan gave away wife
In an almost similar story, a passionate football enthusiast from Kakamega allegedly had to temporarily give away his spouse to a friend for two nights due to a football bet.
According to the bet, Willingie Wawish would spend time with the man's wife if Manchester United lost to Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace emerged victorious in the match with a 1-0 score, thanks to a goal by Joachim Andersen in the 25th minute.
