The late Bob Collymore's wife, Wambui Kamiru, is in mourning after her cat died due to a tumour.
Wambui is a heartbroken pet owner who lost her dear cat three years after adopting it. She shared images she had taken of the cat after taking it in.
"I met this friend three years ago. A stranger who showed up in my compound one day. After a quick visit to our loving vet Dr Shikuku we moved. This being in or rather, he chose us as home."
She named the cat Nyanyur and noted that it provided emotional comfort during times of grief.

"In a very difficult time, through grief and COVID, Nyayur was a constant companion. He eventually became best friends with Rukugu. It took a year for him to agree to be held. At one point, he got lost for three months. It was a sad three months."
What happened to Wambui Kamiru's cat?
Wambui noted that her cat, however, came back after three months and was more affectionate.
"He came back a changed cat, more affectionate, and would follow me everywhere and would allow me to be a true cat owner. Nyanyur helped welcome our new cat."
Things changed when the cat developed a sore around his left eye and was diagnosed with a tumour.
"A few months ago, he developed a small sore along his left eye. Unfortunately, he lost his eye to tumour "
After visits to the doctor, the cat was cleared of the tumour, but months later, it was back.
"We were clear for about two months, but then he started losing weight again. Unfortunately, the tumour was back, and nothing could be done this time. The last few months have been spent outside. Basking. Watching birds, Cuddling."
Collymore's widow buried the cat in her compound and paid tribute to it in a loving manner.
