A Kakamega boy identified as Victor Obama is stranded despite getting an impressive 412 marks in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCPE) and being called to Maranda High School.

Obama's dad was allegedly killed by relatives

Desperate, the 13-year-old shared his plight with a well-wisher, who shared it on Facebook. A part of the placard held by the boy read that he had also found placement at Friends School Kamusinga.

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Obama's widowed mom, identified as Anne Ausi, shared that his dad was allegedly killed by his relatives over a land dispute.

"They kicked me and my kids out of their home, and now I am living at my maternal home with my children and mother who is very sick and can't walk; her legs just came together, rendering her immobile," said Anne.

Obama called to Maranda High and Friends School in Kamusinga

"My son has been called to Maranda High School, I fear he may he lose his chance just because I don't have money," said the ailing woman.

On his part, young Obama said that he wanted to pursue his education to the highest level to achieve his academic dreams.

"I want to help my weak and ailing mum. I tried some scholarships, such as Wings To Fly, county government scholarships and Galama Energies Limited but I wasn't considered," said the teen. 53,544 .

Ailing Nyamira boy called to Kisii High School

In another story, Benjamin Omaiyo impressed his former school and family when he got 388 marks in his KCPE exams.

Despite being very sick and a person with a disability, he still managed to sit for his exams.

TUKO.co.ke learned that Benjamin has now been called to Kisii High School, but sadly, his foot needs grafting because of a painful wound, and the family doesn't have money to take him to Tenwek Hospital.
