Levis Otieno Rabah overcame the odds to perform stellarly in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
His heartbreaking story makes his examination success even sweeter, as politician Jalang'o shared.

"Four years ago, Levis walked into Kanga High School with nothing but a soap! We gathered together and collected money and school items for Levis! We raised more money than was needed to complete his four years in school, and the balance was used to pay for other students," part of the caption read.
Former media personality Jalang'o noted he and compassionate well-wishers shopped for Levis everything he needed to ensure he had a smooth experience in school.
He travelled to Kanga to see that he was admitted, fees paid and personal effects catered for.
After the 2023 KCSE results were announced on Monday, January 8, Jalang'o was pleased to reveal Levis's grade as he passed with flying colours, scoring a B+.
"Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this noble journey! Today, Levis made all of us proud! Asanteni sana," he said.

How many candidates scored D+ in 2023 KCSE?
Still, on matters relating to 2023 KCSE, over 494,000 candidates scored D+ and below.
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu said there was a decline in performance in the KCSE examination.
Of the 895,533 candidates who received their results, 125,006 candidates scored a mean grade of D+.
The CS ordered investigations into why over 48,000 candidates managed grade E despite the flexible grading system.
