A young boy named Keoni III felt discontent with his father and decided to leave his parent's house and, hopefully, find a "better" home.
From the look of things, the father had attempted to engage in a constructive conversation with Keoni III, but the young boy seemed resolute and declared his intention to leave home.

Instead of the parents pleading with him to stay because he is too young and it wasn't safe out there, they played reverse psychology and allowed him to leave.
They waved goodbye to him and wished him well before closing the door on him, leaving the little one in darkness.
The audible click of the door lock resonated through the home as the youngster's parents silently watched through the glass to see their son's next course of action.
Prodigal Son moment
As Keoni started walking away from home, reality set in, and the fear of the unknown became too much for him to bear.
He did not go far before his confidence waned and, realizing he had made a terrible mistake, came back running to the door, asking to be let in.
"I don't want to leave!" he is heard saying amid tears, evidently apologetic of his hurried decision and with a lifetime lesson to boot.
A sigh of relief overcame his worried face as the parents opened the door to allow him back home with open arms like the biblical Prodigal Son.
Meru boy runs away over punishment
In an unrelated story, Jayden Kimani fled from his grandmother's home in Meru after committing a mistake and being instructed to await punishment.
According to Jayden's mother, that was the second time the 12-year-old had taken off under similar circumstances.
She linked her child's misbehaviour to puberty, adding that his grandmother doesn't even discipline him severely to make him scared.
