A 58-year-old woman is under police custody after allegedly killing her 85-year-old husband following a domestic misunderstanding just after Christmas Day.
Acot and Apio go to buy meat together
Janet Apio from Uganda assaulted her husband, Joseph Acot, after returning from a drinking press at a nearby trading centre.
Monitor reports that the two left their home on December 24 to buy meat for Christmas Day, but Acot left his wife at the trading centre and headed home. His wife, on the other hand, arrived home at 4 am, and a fierce fight ensued between the two, resulting in his death.

Acot married Apio only six months after the death of his legally married wife, with whom they shared four children.
According to Aco's eldest son, Maurice Okello, Apio went to tell him that his father had died before running for the hills.
"I rushed to the scene and found him lying on the floor with some head injuries," said Okello.
Apio is now at Apac Police Station, while her later husband's body was taken to the morgue.
Woman kills husband after he stole her savings
In another story, Juliet Chelangat, aged 43, is said to have withdrawn KSh 7,900 from her savings to pay for her children's school fees.
However, her husband, Stephen Namawangala, aged 40, stole the money and used all of it on alcohol.
The two engaged in a violent fight after the husband failed to return the money, leading to his death.
"At around 11pm, they developed a quarrel which led to a fight, where the suspect pushed her husband to the ground and he became unconscious. He died while being rushed to Kapchorwa Hospital. The suspect was arrested and detained in custody for murder," police report read.
