A man has rejected an apology from his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend who shot him, stating that he does not believe it is necessary and that he still loves her the same way he did before the incident that separated them.

Charlie Glenn, speaking to FOX19 NOW, still confessed love to Tonya Nester, who is currently undergoing treatment for a mental disability.

“I still to this day love her, and if she ever gets better, well...” Glenn said.

What propelled the shooting?

According to Glenn, Tonya had requested they take a walk together. However, after realising that she had carried a gun with her, he went down with the request, hence the unexpected shooting.

“She wanted me to take a walk with her, and I found out she had a pistol with her. She said it was a pellet gun. When I told her I would not go anywhere with her if she got a gun, she pulled it out and shot me," claimed Glenn.

According to the police statement, Glenn pulled the gun from his then-girlfriend but could not call the police because of the injuries sustained until his family intervened.

"I proceeded to take the pistol from her at that point and get her down. My family members called 911 because I was shot and bleeding,” he explained.

Tonya's attempts to flee from the crime scene were unsuccessful, as the Hamilton police caught up with her at a house on Caldwell Street, about half a mile away.

“One shot, but I think it went through my genitalia into my bum cheek and out,” Glenn said, according to a recording of the 911 call.

Police kills wife, heads to work as usual

Meanwhile, in Kenya, a police officer was arrested after allegedly killing his wife and abandoning her body in a pool of blood at their Railways Police Line house in Eldoret as he went to work.

According to the police, the couple, Constable Maxwell Maina and Mercy Chebet, had domestic feuds that resulted in the killing.

“Railways and DCI Soy personnel rushed to the scene and found one Mercy Chebet having been shot twice in the chest and succumbed to injury,” the police report read.
