In October of this year, Teresia "Bunny" Wambui was invited to her friend’s birthday party at a famous club in Nairobi.

At one point during the event, she went to the washroom, and one of the ladies followed her, leading to a series of events that threw her off balance.

Duo exchanged numbers

Wambui told TUKO.co.ke that she was a bit drunk and trying to stabilise when the strange lady approached and started kissing her passionately.

In her drunken stupor, the young medic struggled to comprehend what was happening until another friend walked in on them.

She would learn that the lady was not done with her when she followed her to their table and started chatting her up.

“I was scared and didn’t like the feeling, but she insisted on having my number, so I reluctantly gave her,” she recalled.

At the end of the event, the stranger offered to drop her off at her home in Donholm, where she lived at the time.

Lady sent her KSh 65k

Before letting her off, the two had a long conversation with the woman, requesting Bunny to think about them being a couple.

“I was shaking all through, a feeling made worse when I woke up to a love message from her the next morning telling me she had been thinking about me the whole night,” she continued.

She asked her to consider the possibility of them dating, after which she sent her KSh 65,000 through M-pesa to sort her bills.

In the following days, Bunny was embroiled in a string of back-and-forth messages with the woman who insisted she reminded her of her ex-girlfriend.

She sent her another KSh 40,000 to try to keep her, but Bunny’s mind was not comfortable being hit on by a fellow woman, so she ghosted her.

Lesbian couple arrested

Across the borders in Uganda, a suspected lesbian couple, one of them a senior female teacher, were arrested and charged with being part of the LGBTQ movement.

A shopkeeper who always served them recounted his numerous encounters with them, adding that they always passed by his shop for snacks.

In one instance, the teacher allegedly asked the shopkeeper to give her "wife" a big bottle of soda, which prompted another customer to ask about the teacher's sexual orientation.
