Eunice Naserian, the widow of the late Samson Dirkir, a former police officer at Daadab, has opened up about her challenges after the tragic death of her husband, who was fatally shot while on duty.

With tears in her eyes, Mrs Naserian took a journey through the challenges of widowhood, especially since she was left to care for their kids.

Kids need answers about dad

In a video by 7 News Global, the widow explained that apart from suffering the grief of losing her partner, it was difficult to explain to her two little girls where their father went.

"Watoto wangu wanauliza baba yao ako wapi na kama atakuja Christmas kama kawaida. Nashindwa cha kuwaambia" (My children ask where their father is and whether he will come for Christmas as usual. I don't know what to tell them), she said, struggling to find the right words.

She added that since getting married, the family had never spent Christmas day together because the patriarch was always away on duty.

With her primary source of support gone, the woman requested the police service to offer jobs and scholarships to families affected by such losses.

“The Lord is in control. I was also representing a million women who are widows, orphans and single mothers who are passing through all,” she said.

Naserian took a moment to advise the public to show love and support for the men and women in uniform, acknowledging the daily challenges and risks.

She urged the community to keep these dedicated individuals in their prayers and expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by those who serve in law enforcement.

"Pray for the men and women in uniform and show them love. It is not an easy job," she concluded.

Police officers buy motorcycles for widow

In an earlier story, a woman broke down after she received two motorbikes from police officers who offered help to enable her to educate her children.

The officers contributed from their salaries and used that money to purchase motorbikes, mattresses, and food for the widow and her children.

She told the officers that her eldest child dropped out of school due to finances and didn't want history repeating itself with the remaining two.

" God neither sleeps nor slumbers. He has done it for me, I never went to school, and my eldest has suffered the same fate. I didn't want the rest of my children to also lack education," she narrated.
