Nyoro took a trip down memory lane years ago when the resilient student was sent home for school fees but decided to trek since he didn't have transport.
The student spent a night with a watchman who spotted him walking late into the night, which is how his case caught the well-wisher's attention.
When the KCSE exam results were announced yesterday, Nyoro attempted to reach him and get his score since he was one of last year's Watoto Wasome program candidates.
Kiprop scores B minus
Expressing his struggles to reach the student, Nyoro playfully accused him of hiding, to which the student clarified that he lacked a phone but was planning to call the following morning.
The conversation took a turn for the joyous when the student revealed his impressive B-grade in the KCSE exams.
"Congratulations. You did extremely well. We continue matching. Right?" Nyoro said.
"Yes, sir," responded the elated student.
Nyoro requested a screenshot of the results, but the student explained that his phone did not support the feature, but he gave the assurance that he would find a solution.
Where it all began
Kiprop, who hails from West Pokot, was sent away from school in 2021 due to a lack of school fees, and he had to walk 35 km to Kakamega town.
The Form Two student at Chavakali High School had to trek to the town because he did not have the fare.
Sadly, he arrived in Kakamega late evening and was stranded in the streets for most of the night.
Kiprop said he was terrified of being in the bustling streets of Kakamega by himself, and he thus asked a security guard whether he could spend the night just beside him.
