Christmas has come early for more than 250 Kenyans after a US-based Kenyan woman identified as Lyna Nyamwaya gave each of them KSh 1000 to enjoy the holidays.

15 people blessed with mulika mwizi phones

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, philanthropic cop Sammy Ngare, who facilitated the whole exercise, said Nyamwaya was celebrating the Thanksgiving holidays in the US when she decided to bless some people back at home.

"Since many people in Kenya don't have phones, she wanted to bless them with mulikamwizi phones (feature phones). About 15 people were blessed with phones; it started as something small and now it has become a movement," said Ngare.

250 people get money for Christmas holidays

As time went by, some people said they did not want phones but something small to enjoy Christmas day.

"KSh 1000 may look too small for you, but mean a lot for someone who doesn't have a lot of money. Out of the 250 people who benefited, 200 of them are online while the rest are from physical meetings," shared Ngare.
"There are more friends who have joined my sister Nyamwaya in blessing fellow Kenyans, and I project that before Christmas, they will have gifted 300 people with more than KSh 300,000,'said the cop.

When Nyamwaya asked Ngare what a Christmas budget entails, he gave a budget that entailed sugar, maize and wheat flour as well as cooking oil.
