BBC journalist Waihiga Mwaura has been awarded a new journalism award by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Waihiga Mwaura wins global award
Waihiga, who is currently in Uzbekistan, shared photos of himself holding his awards, with one shaped in what looked like a golden hand trophy.

"Grateful to have received this International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award from @Rolacc and @UNODC in the category of safeguarding sports from corruption. As a journalist, I spent the first eight years of my career looking at corruption in sports, including doping, athlete nationality transfers and corruption at major sports events. Grateful to my wife @joyceomondi, family, colleagues and all who I have walked with along this journey for their support."
Waihiga, who left Citizen TV in May after serving for 14 years, wore a matching kitenge outfit with his beautiful wife, Joyce Omondi.
The couple shared a smile while holding the trophy, which got many people congratulating Waihiga and celebrating their love story.

The two lovebirds met in 2012 at Royal Media Services, where they were both working.
